Waipara Downs

Established in 1986, Waipara Downs is an ultra premium, high demand, low production wine from the heart of Waipara.

The vineyard

The Waipara Downs vineyard was first planted by Ruth and Keith Berry in 1986. The first plantings were of Pinot Noir, Cabernet Sauvignon and Chardonnay. The first commercial vintage was produced in 1991. Since then the vineyard has grown to include Riesling and Sauvignon Blanc.

The winery (Southern Boundary Wines)

Waipara Downs is dedicated to quality and because all the grapes are grown on the property, there is careful quality control from the vine to the bottle. All the wines are crafted from estate grown fruit by Southern Boundary Wines.

Wine styles

Waipara Downs has a range of premium boutique wines. As well as the classic Waipara varieties, Waipara Downs is also known for its Late Harvest Riesling.

Waipara Downs wines may purchased directly from Southern Boundary Wines, and trade enquiries are welcome (via email).
