Our wine dogs

Heidi

Heidi joined the Waipara Springs and Southern Boundary Wines family in September 2011. She lives on the property at Waipara Springs Winery and Cafe.

Heidi has a great personality and boy can she run. She will often be seen racing around the vineyard and restaurant. She's settling in well to life in Waipara.

Pet hate: Not being able to run around
Likes: Bananas!
Known accomplice: Hugh

Hugh

Hugh belongs to Scott and Sally Berry and lives at the winery at our Bain Road site.

Hugh often travels in the truck with Scott and can be found not far from where Scott is. Hugh and Heidi are becoming firm friends even though Heidi has a considerable height advantage.

Pet hate: Cat biscuits
Likes: Scott and sleeping on the couch
Known accomplice: Heidi

Jonty (Sadly passed away on 2 June 2010)

Jonty, a Red Kelpie, had been a part of life at Waipara Springs Winery since 1997, but life hadn't always been so glamourous!

He spent is early years being brought up by five males in a University flat in central Christchurch.

Renowned for often getting out, Jonty once ended up in Riccarton Mall and was often found wandering the streets of Hoon Hay.

After joining the winery, Jonty didn't wander too far. And with "wine dog" status, Jonty enjoyed plenty of attention. Jonty could always be found by the fire or lazing in a garden bed soaking up the sun.

Willie (Sadly recently passed away on 4 June 2011)

While not enjoying the same status as Jonty, Willie, had been a regular visitor to the Winery during weekdays, and in days past was Jonty's favourite accomplice.

While knowing his place, Willie often tried to get away with buttering up customers for tidbits and looking out for anything that might fall off a table.
